All IP address on PC are

assigned by DHCP
server. No PC is
manually assigned.

TABLE 1
Question 2 : Show how PCs connect within a lab
& which topology is used.

• S.O.B.
• The PCs in each Lab are connected via a central switch. The
topology used is Star topology. The Socket Outlet Box (S.O.B.)
is used to connect the central switch in a lab to the local server.
The Diagram 2 shows the networking of PCs in Network 1 Lab
Question 3 : How labs connect to each other? How many
switches and routers are used ?
Question 4 : Number of total access points & how
these access points connect to network ?
Question 5 : Detailed diagram of current network
deployment (Artificial Inteligence Lab)
Current deployment
Question 6 : Current Security Measures and
Network Performance
CURRENT SECURITY
• Implementation of Firewall
• Authentication from user
• Implementation of Network Instrution Detection System
(NIDS)

NETWORK PERFORMANCE
• Quality of network services delivered to user
• Bandwidth of network
Question 7 : Current limitations of the deployment
in any perspectives
• The larger the queues the longer the waiting time
• Speed of network
• Distance of connected devices
PROPOSED SOLUTION
Question 8 : Suggest cost effective solutions to enhance
network coverage , number of users and security measures .
• Place the router at center and higher place
• Strong and unique password
• Password regularly changed
• Keep track of development for Wi-Fi standard
• Implementation of multiple layer
Question 9 : Suggest any technology to improve
network performance by keeping current
deployment .

• Use fiber optic cable

• Purchase more router
RENEWED FUNCTIONAL
NETWORK DESIGN
Question 10 : Detailed diagram of your new proposed
network design
CONCLUSION
• Hybrid topology
- Star and bus topology

• Fiber optic cable as a new cable

Detailed diagram
• All switch is connect to each other
• 1 cable break down, the other will back up
• Example : cable between switch 0 and switch 3 is breakdown.
Still, PC1 can connect to PC3 and available to connect to
internet.
