Adverbs answer the questions how, when, where, and to what degree.
Adverbs should not be used to modify noun.
KINDS OF ADVERB
1.ADVERB OF MANNER ( HOW)
e.g. He writes (poorly, slowly, neatly)
careful – carefully
quick - quickly
Change the following adjectives to adverbs
1. slow
2. graceful
3. quiet
2. ADVERB OF TIME (WHEN)
e.g. He is coming (tomorrow, next month,
next week, tonight)
Choose the time expression used.
1. Is the family going to Baguio this summer?
2. The baby could not sleep well lately.
3. ADVERB OF PLACE (WHERE)
e.g. Let us meet ( here, there, in the restaurant).
Complete the sentence by choosing the appropriate adverb.
1. The children are ( in the playground, in the crib)
2. Noise and dirt are ( in the library, everywhere)
4. ADVERB OF FREQUENCY (HOW OFTEN)
e.g. He writes to him (daily, weekly, regularly).
Place the adverb in the parenthesis where it belongs.
1. Grandpa takes a nap in the afternoon. (usually)
2. She attends the Bible study. ( regularly)
5. ADVERB OF QUANTITY OR DEGREE (HOW MUCH)
e.g. These mangos are ripe.
These mangos are almost ripe.
Rewrite the sentence using the adverb of quantity or degree.
