Everything in Revelation, from the

structure to the content, has one

purpose: to reveal Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:5
we are all to be
kings and
priests; children
of the heavenly
King, helping
others to learn
about Jesus!
1 Timothy 5:15
Revelation 19:16
In Revelation 1:5, there is a clear reference to Christ
as the Redeemer. “To Him who loved us and washed
us from our sins in His own blood” (NKJV).
This text points to His atoning death on the cross.
He has not only justified us but sanctified us, as well
(1 Cor. 6:11). We find assurance of salvation in such
texts because they show us that Jesus is the One who
washes away our sins. We certainly can’t do it
ourselves
In Revelation, Christ is introduced as “the
ruler of the kings of the earth” (Rev. 1:5,
NIV), and near the end of the book He is
described as “King Of Kings” (Rev. 19:16).
The great news here is that amid all the chaos
and confusion on earth, we can have the
assurance that our loving Lord and Savior
has ultimate control. He is king of this vast
universe.
Central to the whole Christian
faith is the promise of Christ’s
return “with the clouds.”
Jesus is coming again.
A literal return in an event
that the entire world will
witness.
an event that once and for all
ends the suffering, chaos, and
ruin of this world and ushers
in all the promises of eternity
❖ Every eye will see Jesus at His Second Coming. It
will be as visible as a flash of lightning on a dark
night. Matthew 24:27.
❖ This breathtaking event will not be a secret, but will
bring terror to those who have rejected His mercy.
❖ There will be a special resurrection of those that
pierced Christ so that they can witness Him come
attended by the angels coming in the clouds of glory,
so that they may realize for certain who it was that
they mocked and killed.
So Jesus here is
telling us He is
there for us at the
beginning and will
be there at the end
and all the time in
between.
“Christ Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the
Genesis of the Old Testament, and the Revelation of
the New. Both meet together in Christ.
➢ Jesus Christ is God Eternal.
➢ His love is constant and sure.
➢ He is everything we need from beginning to
end. Isaiah 41:4; 48:12.
Revelation 1:10
It was on the Sabbath
that the Lord of glory
appeared to the exiled
apostle.
1:10 John was “In the Spirit,” meaning he was in
vision, “on the Lord’s day.”
The only day the Bible calls “the Lord’s Day” is the
seventh-day Sabbath.
Isaiah 58:13; Mark 2:28; Exodus 20:11; 31:13.
Matthew 12:8
Of all the eight times that “the first day” [Sunday] is
mentioned in the New Testament it is never called
holy, blessed, the Lord’s day, or anything but a
Rev 1:13 And in

Son of man,
clothed with a
garment down to
the foot, and girt
about the paps
with a golden
girdle.

high priest.
★ This is a picture of Christ watching over and
guiding His Church, and ministering as High Priest
in the heavenly Sanctuary.
★ Jesus cares for His church. God’s people are not left
on their own.

clean us up.
