Ever since the world began, everyone had been trying to

make work easier for all-by machinery or by do-it-yourself


kits. Right now in the year 2002, one has ten times better
living conditions than anyone had in the 16 century. Take for
th

example, cellphones, computers, fax machines, and email,


among others. Today, these are a necessity in our homes that
we did not have before. If people don’t have it, everybody
will be at a disadvantage. There is much to tell about life
today. Many think life is better now than four hundred years
ago. Still some say, it is much better. But few believed that
life was happier and more peaceful then.
PRONOUNS
Pronouns – is a word that
substitutes a noun of a noun phrase.
Types of Pronoun
Demonstrative pronoun -
There are five demonstrative
pronouns: these, those, this, and that.
Often distinguished their targets by
pointing or some other indication of
position.
I’ll take these.
Those are totally awesome.
Indefinite Pronoun
Refers to one or more unspecified
person or things. One group
includes compounds of some-,
any-, every-, and no- with –thing, -
one, and –body
Anyone can do that.
Somebody asked for help.
Indefinite Pronoun
Another group including many,
more, both, and most, can
appear alone or followed by
“of”
Both are interested with the proposal.

Distributive pronouns are used to
refer to members of a group
separately rather than collectively.
To each his own.

Negative Pronouns indicate the
non-existence of people or things.

Impersonal pronouns normally
refer to a person but are not
specific as to first, second or third
person in the way that the personal
pronouns are.

Relative Pronoun
Refer back to people or things
previously mentioned. Includes
who, whom, whose, which and
that.
The driver who ran the stop sign
was careless.
Interrogative pronoun
Ask which person or thing is meant. In
reference to a person one may use who,
whom, whose. Non-personal
interrogative pronouns are which and
what.
Whose parents are those?
Which color do you prefer?
