Introduction

■ Sepia is an animal remedy which is


made from ink juice of cuttle fish.
■ It is also known as washer
woman’s remedy.
■ It is been proved accidentally.
■ Hahnemann accidentally proved this drug on an
artist friend who had a habit of wetting his paint
brush with his saliva.
■ The paint brush contained Indian Ink which was
being absorbed by his system slowly over the
time.
■ So, he developed certain chronic illness.
Hahnemann after many failed efforts to treat
him thought that the saliva containing Ink might
have some maintaining cause.
■ Then he advised the artist to discontinue that
habit and he was completely cured of his
ailments. This unique experience led him to
prove sepia.

Venous stasis and venous congestion

Constitution
■ Make up of body : suited to tall, straight, slim
women with narrow pelvis and lax fibres and muscles.
-weak persons with yellow, earthy complexion,
discolouration, with yellow spots.
■ Temperament : nervous temperament.
■ Chilly patient
■ Anti-psoric and anti-sycotic miasm.
Guiding symptoms
■ Weakness and bearing down sensation; must sit cross legs.
■ Pain extends from other parts to back; shuddering from pain.
■ All gone sensation in the stomach, >by eating.
■ As of lump or something rolling over internally.
■ Very sensitive to cold air ‘ very chilly’ ,feels cold even in the warm
room.
■ Faints while kneeling at the church; from extremes of heat or cold.
■ Lack of vital heat, especially in chronic diseases.
■ Flushes of heat and perspiration.
■ Atrophy of children, face like old man, big belly, dry flabby skin.
■ Tendency to abortion ;from 5-7 month.
■ Drooping of eyelids with catarrhal discharge.
■ All the coverings of the neck felt too tight.
■ Dyspnoea; < by sitting, after sleep in room, but > dancing or walking rapidly.
■ Sight or even the thought of the food sickens. Smell of cooking food nauseates.(c.r)
■ Desire: acids, vinegar, pickles, butter, bread, sweets, wine, pungent.
■ Aversion: to smell of food, milk, tobacco and meat.
Mind
■ Indifferent
■ She cannot narrate symptoms without weeping.
■ Indolent , anxiety,.
■ Great intolerance to tobacco.
■ Very greedy, miserly, absent-minded, weak
memory, unable to recollect thoughts.
■ Great dread of being alone, of men, of meeting
frndz.
■ Ailments from :
o Exposure to cold o Change of weather

o Laundry work o From cold air

o After eating o Milk, acids, fats

o Going upstairs
o coitus
