Cloud

computing
(Data storage and computing )
SLIDESMANIA
Hello! I’m...
Good afternoon everyone!!! I’m krishka from class XI C present here with a very important
topic concerning data, storage, and the Internet.

Introduction
We all use many different types of apps
which may be Instagram, Facebook or
Netflix. They are an important part of
our life but do you know that the
monthly active users of these apps are
in billions(Facebook -2.96B, Youtube-
2.29B ) and 5.07B people use the
internet around the world.
So where does all data raised by these
SLIDESMANIA

apps go?? Where does this huge

amount of data store?? The answer to
What is cloud computing??
Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data
storage (cloud storage) and computing power, without direct active management by the user .
Large clouds often have functions distributed over multiple locations, each of which is a
data center. Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and typically
uses a "pay as you go" model, which can help in reducing capital expenses but may also lead to
unexpected operating expenses for users.
Cloud Computing is both a combination of software and hardware based computing resources
delivered as a network service.

Cloud computing?
Advantages----- Disadvantages-----

Lower computer costs Requires a constant Internet connection

Improved performance: Reduced Does not work well with low-speed
software costs connections
Instant software updates Features might be limited Can be slow
● Improved document format
Stored data can be lost
compatibility ● Stored data might not be secure
● Unlimited storage capacity
● Increased data reliability
● Universal document access
● Latest version availability
● Easier group collaboration Device

Service Models

Service Models are the reference models on which the Cloud Computing is based. These can be
categorized into three basic service models as listed below:

1.Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

2. Platform as a Service (PaaS)

3. Software as a Service (SaaS)

Iaas
(Infrastructure as a service)

Iaas provides many services such as

virtual machines, storage and backup
facility, network components, Os’s etc.
Using Iaas from cloud a user can use
hardware Infrastructure for many
purposes like executing any software
application. We can also outsource the
hardware and software and pay as per the
usage .

Some ex. Of iaas are shown in the img.

PaaS (platform as a Service)

PaaS provides the runtime environment for

applications, development & deployment tools,
etc.
PaaS provides all of the facilities required to
support the complete life cycle of building and
delivering web applications and services entirely
from the Internet.
Typically applications must be developed with a
particular platform in mind

• Multi tenant environments Highly scalable

multi tier architecture
Saas( Software as a service)

SaaS model allows to use software

applications as a service to end users.

SaaS is a software delivery methodology

that provides licensed multi-tenant access
to software and its functions remotely as
a Web-based service.

Usually billed based on usage

Usually multi tenant environment .

Highly scalable architecture
