Hybrid National Food Fair
July 12-16, 2023
DTI DDO successfully participated in the Face to face
National Food Fair after Pandemic. Three products were
exhibited during the fair and generated good sales. Exhibitors
were glad that this activity is the perfect venue to access
institutional buyers.

Agri Trade Fair -July 21-23, 2023
• Held during the celebration of MSME Week at Arabejo St.,
Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro
• A total of 23 exhibitors representing different municipalities in Davao
de Oro
• 25 products were displayed
• A total sales of Php 143,535 was generated throughout the three-day
event.
• This sales significantly contributed to the growth and sustainability
of the participating MSMEs.
MSME Forum and Financing Fair

Patayan of Melgardo Fashion Shop and Angelica Mae D.

⚬ 4 Financing Institution presented their programs (SBC,

YEP Mentorship Program Launching and MOA
Signing - July 26, 2023
• 1st of its kind, an initiative by DTI Davao de Oro
• Aimed at empowering young individuals by providing them with
guidance, support, and mentorship opportunities
• Connect experienced mentors with ambitious and driven youth to foster
personal and professional development, as well as entrepreneurship
skills.
• It was officially launched during the culmination of the MSME Week.
• 5 carefully evaluated and assessed youth mentees and 5 evaluated
mentors signed the memorandum of agreement.

August 12, 2023
Two Youth MSMEs from Davo de Oro participated at the Habi
Kadayawan. Meljan Patayan of Melgardo and Jayson Compas
Doble of MACOFA were part of the top 5 finalists for the
Accessories Category - Youth Division.

A heartwarming highlight of the event was the victory of our


young luminary, Jason Doble, hailing from Maco, Davao de Oro.
With remarkable ingenuity, Jason conceived an exquisite coconut-
inspired necklace named 'Latag,' securing the coveted Grand Prize
in the Youth Category.

·DTI DDO under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFDIP) program spearheaded the conduct of the Davao De Oro
Provincial Coconut Industry Summit 2023 with the theme: 𝐸𝑚𝑝𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐶𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑢𝑡 𝐹𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑇𝑜𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑠 𝑎 𝑆𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒
𝐶𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑢𝑡 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝐷𝑎𝑣𝑎𝑜 𝑑𝑒 𝑂𝑟𝑜, on August 22, 2023 held at the NNCHS Gym, Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. In partnership
with Provincial Government thru the Investment Promotion Division, the Coco Summit was attended by more than 1,000 coconut farmers from
all over the province and about a hundred more industry stakeholders. Davao de Oro Provincial Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga graced
the occasion as the keynote speaker.

The Coco Summit was also participated by CFDIP implementing agencies apart from DTI such as PCA, CDA, ATI, DA, PhilMech, NDA,
CHED, LBP, DOLE, TESDA, among others. The Coco Summit was attended by PCA XI Regional Manager DTI XI Asst. Regional Director
Romeo Castañaga representing RD Maria Belenda Ambi, Coconut industry regional focal and Davao del Sur Provincial Director Marivic
Placer, and of course DTI DDO Provincial Director Atty. Lucky Siegfred Balleque. The programs and services of these CFIDP implementing
agencies were presented and were further discussed during the Summit’s open forum.

An important feature of the Coco Sumit was the Coconut Products Trade Exhibit, which displayed the food and non-food products from
Coconut and Coco farmers produced by MSMEs in Davao de Oro. At least 15 MSMEs participated in the Coconut Products Trade Exhibit
during the Summit.

The highlight of the event was the institutionalization of the province’s Coconut Industry Association named Coconut Industry Resource
Circuit for Leadership and Empowerment (CIRCLED- Davao de Oro) and induction of its officers by no less than the Governor Montejo-
Gonzaga.

CONSUMER PROTECTION
DTI XI Regional Composite Team conducted market surveillance and
monitoring of products under mandatory certification in Davao de Oro. A
total of Nine (9) firms monitored and Three (3) were issued Notice of
Violation. Non-conforming products amounting to Php 368,000 were
sealed, subject to the formal charge proceedings.

Radio Guestings - Regular Radio Guesting for “Negosyo, Konsyumer,


Atbp.” @ Z Radio 96.7FM is still being done.

Loan Orientation with the Maragusan Public Market Stall Owners
• at least 40 microentrepreneurs capacitated
• Discussions on Price Tag Law, No Shortchanging Act of 2016,
Consumer Rights and Responsibilities and the Rise Up Program
• One-on-one consultation and requirements evaluation was conducted
by Ms. Rhea D. Valdez, SBC Provincial Coordinator, to those
participants interested in the loan offers.
