CONTEXTUAL REFERENCE

 Para evitar la múltiple repetición de una misma palabra en un texto recurrimos a la utilización de referencias
contextuales. Los referentes son los que sustituyen al sujeto de una oración.
 El uso de referentes en una oración dentro de un texto hace que el texto sea mas fácil de leer y evita que el texto se
vuelva monótono y aburrido.
Por ejemplo:
“Rosa Maria is very happy. Rosa Maria is married. Rosa Maria has three children. Rosa Maria has an interesting job”
Ahora si vemos el mismo ejemplo pero utilizando referentes:
“Rosa Maria is very happy. She is married. She has three children. She has an interesting job”.
La utilización de la palabra she nos permite referirnos a Rosa Maria sin necesidad de repetir su nombre tres veces en dos
líneas. Lo cual resultaría en una lectura sumamente tediosa.

WHAT IS CONTEXTUAL REFERENCE?

 They are words which substitute for other words (to avoid using the same word over and over). They refer back to
words that have been used. Also they may refer forward to ideas that will be stated.

EXAMPLES:

- There are many kinds of batteries, but they all produce electricity by chemical action.

- A square is a figure with 4 sides of equal length. Each of its 4 sides must form a right angle with 2 of the
other sides
There are two technologies at work in a clipboard PC: one allows raw data to get
into the computer and the other allow the computer to figure out what data mean.

Optical fibers give very clear telephone conversations which are free from signal
interference because light signals from one fiber do not interfere with those of others in the
same cable

research.
