HVCA Tools
HAZARD ASSESSMENT
Tool 1: Historical Profile

HISTORICAL PROFILE

Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman

kung ano ang mga hazard at mga
importanteng pangyayari sa inyong
komunidad o eskwelahan at kung ano ang
mga epekto nito sa inyo.
Example:

TRAINING ON COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL SAFETY & SCHOOL DISASTER MANAGEMENT FOR

TEACHERS
Tool 2: Seasonal Calendar
SEASONAL CALENDAR
Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman
kung anu-ano ang mga Hazards, Climatic
Events, Main Labor Activities, Resource
Availability, Health Events, at Heavy
Example:

Key Areas Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec
1. Hazard events
e.g. Flood x x x x x X
2. Climatic events
e.g. Habagat x x x X
3. Main labor activities
e.g. Planting x x x X
4. Resource availability
e.g. Water x x x x x x x x x
5. Health events
e.g. dengue x x x x x x
Tool 3: Hazard Map
HAZARD MAPPING
Mapa ito ng isang “Top View” ng
barangay o eskwelahan. Ginagamit ang
tool na ito para malaman kung anu-ano
ang mga kabuhayan, ari-arian, at mga
bahay ang maaapektuhan kung may
mangyayaring kalamidad (natural man or
gawa ng tao).
Tool 3: Hazard Map
Instruction: Mag-guhit ng isang mapa ng inyong barangay o eskwelahan. I-guhit ang mga
bahay, buildings at iba pang mga landmarks. Pagkatapos, i-guhit ang mapa, i-
plot ang mga hazards na makikita dito. Lagyan ng mga simbolo ang mga ibat-
ibang hazard.
Example:
Tool 4: Hazard Severity Ranking
HAZARD RANKING
Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman
kung anu-ano ang inyong pananaw sa
epekto ng hazard sa inyong buhay at
kung gaano kalaki ang posibilidad na
mangyayari ulit ito.
Tool 4: Hazard Severity Ranking
Hazard Impact Likelihood Severity
(a) (b) (a * b)
Instruction: Instruction: Instruction: Instruction:

Storm Surge 2 6 12
Tool 5: Vulnerability Tree
PROBLEM TREE ANALYSIS

Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman

kung anu-ano ang mga epekto ng
Hazard sa inyong barangay o
eskwelahan at kung bakit ito
nangyayari.
Tool 5: Vulnerability Tree

Leaves: Isulat sa leaves ang

impact o epekto ng hazard na
naka-sulat sa trunk.

Trunk: Hazard

Roots:
Isulat sa roots ang rason kung
bakit nangyayari ang Hazard.
Tool 6: Vulnerability Assessment

EXPOSURE ANALYSIS
Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman
kung sinu-sino ang mga tao, anong mga
ari-arian, at kung saan ang mga bahay
ang pinaka-expose sa hazard at kung
gaano kahalaga ang mga ito sa
komunidad.
Tool 6: Vulnerability Assessment

Elements at-Risk Degree of Exposure (a) Importance (b) Vulnerability Rating
(a*b)
Instruction: Instruction: Instruction: Instruction:

Tool 7: Local Coping Mechanisms
COPING CAPACITY ACTIVITY

Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman

kung ang inyong ginawa para
mabawasan o mabigyan ng solusyon
ang mga Hazard na inyong natukoy
“Before” , “During”, at “After”
mangyari ito.
Tool 7: Local Coping Mechanisms

CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
Ginagamit ang tool na ito para malaman
kung anu-ano ang mga Capacity ng
school (Human, Natural, Physical,
Social, Financial, Knowledge, Skill,
Attitude, and Time) at kung ano ang
pinaka-epektibo paraan para mabawasan
ang epekto ng Hazard.
Tool 8: Capacity Assessment
Existing Capacities Effectiveness (a) Upgradability (b) Capacity Rating (a*b)
Instruction: Instruction: Instruction: Instruction:
