Line and Shape:

Mini Project
Summative #1
Your Task: We are going to use our knowledge of Line and Shape to create a mini-project!

There are four choices for your mini project artwork. You can find them linked as instruction
docs on the next slide. Be sure to fully read the expectations for the one that you choose! As
each option requires different materials.

For whichever option you choose, you will need to insert an image(s) of your artwork to the
“Artwork Submission” slide in this deck. Alternatively, you could add images of your work into
your own Google Slidedeck or Document and then insert the link to work into the “Artwork
Submission” slide - if you choose this option, please make sure you edit the sharing settings on
your work so your link works and I can see you art!

When you have finished your artwork, you must also answer the reflection questions on the
“Reflection Question” slide in this deck. You can answer in typed or video/audio format.

When you are ready to submit this assignment, locate the assignment posting under “Content”
in our course Brightspace classroom. You must submit your work by attaching your completed
copy of the assignment slide deck to the assignment posting - it will save in PPT format, but
don't worry that's fine. You can also insert a link to your completed copy of the assignment
slide deck in the "Comments" section, if you want to ensure that I see your work in Google
Slides as well. Please make sure you edit the sharing settings on your work - change the
“General Access” to “PDSB” and “Viewer”, so that anyone in PDSB with the link can view.
Documenting Your Process
For this project you must take 4 process photos as you create you piece. Fo
example at the start, and then at various stages of completion. At the bottom of
each of the process photos you must include a sticky-note or a small piece of
paper with your name, student number and signature.

This will make sure that you are the one creating the piece, that you haven’t
“borrowed” something from Google and submitted it as your own.

Reflection Questions
You can type in your answers - or insert video/audio explanation addressing each question.

1) Why did you choose the mini-project option that you did?
The mini project that I chose was contour because for me it was easy and the only materials that I needed were my pencil/pen I also
didn’t need to do that much work on this project. So because of that I chose the Contour mini project.
2) What did you create? Describe your artwork.
The artwork that I created was with 3 everyday object 1) Batter 2) watch 3) wite out. I took all of these everyday items and put them
together in a artwork I created
3) How does your artwork demonstrate your understanding of line and shape? I think the
way my artwork demonstrates my understanding of line and shape is because when I look at my drawing I can see that I created
various shapes in my drawing just by using lines and people who look at the painting can see it too. So that Is how I demonstrated my
understanding of line and shape.
4) Are you happy with what you created? Explain.
I am really happy with the work I created because it took me a really long time for me to put in the details that I took into for drawing
each of the objects so that is why i am really proud of my drawing.
First Time Inserting Audio/Video
Answers?
Creating an audio clip (Mac, PC, Web, Iphone and Android!): How to record audio on your computer or phone : Support Hub. To
insert audio into a slide, go to “insert”, then click “audio.” Choose where your audio is coming from (Google Drive will be the easiest
place to save and upload audio clips from) and then click on your audio file. Click on “select” and your audio will then insert into your
chosen slide.

Creating a video: The simplest way is to use your device’s camera to record a video. Save your video to your device and then upload it
to your Google Drive from your device. To insert your video into a slide, go to “insert”, then click “video.” Choose where your video is
coming from (Google Drive will be the easiest place to save and upload your videos from) and then click on your video file. Click on
“select” and your video will then insert into your chosen slide.

Alternatively, you can also create and edit your own videos in many programs - such as Youtube, but it requires a bit more work and
takes a bit longer to do. This is a good option for big projects, but would take a long time for something like this, where you are just
answering reflection questions.
