Program PR

A PR (PUBLIC RELATIONS) CAMPAIGN IS

AN EFFORT MADE BY AN
ORGANIZATION, COMPANY, OR
INDIVIDUAL TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN
GOOD RELATIONS WITH THE PUBLIC, BE
IT CONSUMERS, EMPLOYEES,
STAKEHOLDERS, OR THE GENERAL
PUBLIC. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF A PR
CAMPAIGN IS TO INFLUENCE PUBLIC
PERCEPTIONS, OPINIONS AND
ATTITUDES TOWARDS A PARTICULAR
ENTITY OR ISSUE.
PR strategy or program can be called CSR
(Corporate Social Responsibility) is a concept in
which companies voluntarily consider the social,
environmental and economic impacts of their
operational activities and take responsibility for
these consequences. CSR involves companies'
efforts to contribute positively to society and the
environment around them, beyond the financial and
legal interests that underlie their business activities.
One of the CSR PR programs that has been
successfully implemented is the care for the semeru
mountain eruption disaster by the united tractors
group. the csr activities were carried out in two
phases, namely disaster emergency response and
post-disaster recovery which focused on two
locations, Candipuro District and Pronojiwo District.

minor injuries. A total of 4,250 people were displaced
in 16 sub-districts. Candipuro sub-district has the most
refugees, totaling 1,733 people. Then, followed by

5 places of worship. Then, health facilities and bridges
are each one unit.
GRAPH OF VOLCANIC
ERUPTIONS
Indonesia is a country that is often hit by natural disasters of
volcanic eruptions. Based on the National Disaster
Management Agency (BNPB) report, there were 156
volcanic eruptions in Indonesia from 2010 to 2020. In 2020,
for example, there were 14 volcanic eruptions that occurred
in the country. Among them are Mount Semeru, Mount
Merapi, Mount Sinabung, Mount Anak Krakatau, and Mount
Ile Lewotolok.

The number of volcanic eruptions in 2020 doubled compared

to the previous year. In 2019, there were 7 volcanic eruptions
in the country. The BNPB report noted that the highest
volcanic eruption in the last decade was in 2018. There were
63 eruptions.
CONCLUSION
THAT'S WHY PR PROGRAMS HELP THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
MOUNT SEMERU IS AN ACTIVE VOLCANO AND HAS THE
POTENTIAL TO ERUPT PERIODICALLY. DISASTERS
ASSOCIATED WITH VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS CAN INCLUDE
LAVA FLOWS, HOT CLOUDS, EXPLOSIVE ERUPTIONS AND
VOLCANIC ASH THAT CAN HARM HUMANS AND THE
SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT.
IN THE FACE OF A MOUNT SEMERU DISASTER, EVACUATION
AND SHELTER ARE IMPORTANT FACTORS TO SAVE LIVES AND
MINIMIZE NEGATIVE IMPACTS ON COMMUNITIES LIVING
AROUND THE MOUNTAIN. DISASTER MANAGEMENT
AUTHORITIES AND TEAMS MUST HAVE GOOD PLANS AND
PROCEDURES IN PLACE TO MANAGE EVACUATIONS SAFELY
AND EFFECTIVELY.
