In 1930, Benjamin Lee Whorf argued that “different languages

Linguistic Relativity also known as Sapir-Whorf or Whorfanism, is a principle


suggesting that the structure of a language influences its speakers’ world-
view or cognition, and thus individuals’ languages determine or shape their
perception of the world.
