conflicts between different countries.

How do you think global conflicts affected children’s lives?

‘For every child and young person everywhere,

food is life – a fundamental right and a foundation
of healthy nutrition and sound physical and mental
development.’
How do you think global conflicts affected children’s lives?

• War disrupts the supply of necessities to children and their families like
food, water, shelter, health services, and education.
• Lack of access to these basic needs may deprive children of their
physical, social-emotional, and psychological development.
• War shifts family dynamics
We’ll get to displacement in a moment, but regardless of whether a family
stays together at home, moves together in search of refuge, a move that’s
closer to something in between, or the loss of family and friends due to
violence, war fundamentally changes family dynamics. This can be even
more traumatizing for children, who rely on stable home life for their
proper emotional growth and development.
How do you think global conflicts affected
children’s lives?
• Conflict can cost a child their right to an education
Quality education is one of the essentials to success in life, but this
becomes a challenge during the conflict. According to UNICEF, refugee
children are five times more likely to be out of school than other
children, often due to school safety, language barriers in the classroom,
and financial issues.
• Conflict damages important infrastructure and services ( Hospitals)
• War is linked to hunger, especially for children
• Children will live with the scars of war long after it’s over
So what can we do to help?

• Keep expanding our knowledge of ongoing global conflicts

• Spread awareness
• Empathise for the people involved
• Volunteer or donate to charities or organizations that help refugees
• Welcome refugees to our country and make sure they feel safe and
secure
