The basic processes involved in vision:


❶ The pupil allows light into the eye, which is
focused by the cornea, lens, and humors onto
the retina.
❷ The light striking the photoreceptors of the
retina produces action potentials within the
visual pathway.
❸ The optic nerve conveys these action
potentials to the brain where perception
occurs.
