* Identify the different kinds of indigenous
materials and indigenous crafts/product find in
the locality.
 Northern Mangyan Tribes
Tadyawan Tribe
The Tadyawan Mangayan Tribe
is mainly located in the
province of Mindoro. Known
for their love for music and
their expertise in instrument
such as tampul, and the two
stringed fiddle called the
kudyapi. They also known to
have unique form of dance
called “sayaw sa bangko”.
Alangan Tribe
The Alangan tribe they are
located in the town of Naujan
and Victoria, also in Oriental
Mindoro. They have a rich
tradition of weaving and are
known for creating intricate and
colorful garments. They also
have reputation for their
expertise in planting and
harvesting rice.
Iraya Tribe
The Iraya tribe is mainly found
in the province of Batangas and
known for their skill in basket
weaving. They also have unique
way of celebrating their harvest
festival called Pagdiwata, which
involves offering of foods and
drinks to their ancestors.
 Southern Mangyan Tribes
Buhid Tribe

The Buhid tribe specializes in bamboo craftmanship, creating intricate weaving

patterns and traditional musical instruments.

Taobuid/Bangon Tribe
The Taobuid/Bangon tribe showcases their expertise in mat weaving and embroidery,
preserving their cultural heritage through their beautifully crafted textiles.

Hanunuo Tribe
The Hanunuo tribe is known for their exceptional skill in traditional script writing,
preserving their ancient Baybayin script through their intricate handwritten manuscripts.
