the Laguna de Tequila located in the channels of Xochimilco,
south of the center of Mexico City, Mexico. Notable for the
number of dolls of various styles and colours that can be found
throughout the islands, it has become a popular tourist
attraction. The dolls were originally placed by the former owner
of the island, Julián Santana Barrera, who died from a heart
attack in 2001. He believed that dolls helped to chase away the
spirit of a girl who drowned years ago. According to a legend, a
young girl drowned entangled among the lilies of the canal and
her body was found on the banks of the Santampa chinampas.
Santampa claimed to heard the girl crying out ‘’I want my doll’’
and terrified, hung up the doll he found near the girls body. After

MAURITIUS ISLAND
Located the Southwestern tip of the island you will find
a fascinating illusion. When viewed from above,a runoff of sand ant
silt diposits creates the impression of
an ‘underwater waterfall’.The ocean currents collect and
drive coastal sand and silt off Mauritius’southern tip into
the ocean’s depth. This creates an “underwater
waterfall”. It’s a dramatic scene that resembles a part of the island
sucked down a drain. The sand and silt of this underwater
waterfall plunge to depths of more than 4000 metres into the
oceanic void.
