Population: It is the total number of people at a particular place at a


given time period of time.
Population growth rate: It is the increase in the number of individuals in
a population in a given time period,
Population explosion: A sudden, large increase in the size of a
population.
World population growth is increasing, and is already causing many problems. It is
projected to continue growing in some parts of the world whilst others stabilize, with some
estimates putting the final population of the world as high as 12 billion (it is currently half
that).
