ABSTRACT
• The presented system provides ubiquitous and continuous access to
energy consumption to the consumer by exploiting the advancement
of IoT technology. The proposed system is cost effective as it
requires a simple upgrade on the existing meters than complete
replacement. It is found that from the collected data, it is possible to
obtain the pattern of consumption as well as faultiness present in the
existing system. The presented work can also be extended to large
scale from which load distributed in the area can be estimated so
that the system can be strengthened to enhance performance.

Introduction
• Energy monitoring using IoT involves the deployment of smart sensors,
meters, and devices that are interconnected through the Internet to gather
and transmit data related to energy consumption. These devices can
monitor various parameters such as Electrical parameters, temperature,
humidity, voltage,current,frequency,powerfactor etc.

• Key Components of IoT-based Energy Monitoring are Smart Sensors and

Meters, Communication Networks, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing,
User Interface.

• Individuals can monitor and control energy usage in their homes through
smart devices.

LITERATURE SURVEY
• Anitha [1] proposed Smart energy meter surveillance using IoT about
IoT. The foremost objective of this project is to create awareness
about energy consumption and efficient use of home appliances for
energy savings. It is proposed to overcome all the disadvantages in
the already existing energy meter. All the details are sent to the
consumers mobile through the IoT and it is also displayed. It is a time
savings and it helps to eliminate the human interference using IoT.

• Devadhanishini [2] Smart Power Monitoring Using IoT that energy

Consumption is the very important and challenging issue. The
integration of the Arduino WIFI and SMS provides the system as
Smart Power Monitoring system. Smart energy meter provides data
for optimization and less the power consumption.

• Mohammed Hosseiu [3] presented a paper titled Design and

implementation of smart meter using IoT. IoT can be utilized for various

applications of the smart grid consisting power consumption, smart

meter, electric power demand side management. In this paper, the Smart

Energy Metering(SEM) is explained as the main purpose of SEM is

necessary for collecting information on energy consumption of household

appliances and monitor the environmental parameters and provide the

required services to home/Industrial users.
