COMMERCIAL HIGHLIGHTS OF MAY’22

RESUMPTION OF INTERNATIONAL TRAFFIC TO BANGLADESH

• Kolkata – Khulna BANDHAN Express resumed services on 29.05.2022

• DHAKA – KOLKATA MAITREE Express also resumed its services from Dhaka
on 29.05.2022 and arrived at Kolkata Station in the evening.

• Kolkata – Dhaka MAITREE Express resumed services from 30.05.2022

• These services were discontinued due to pandemic since March’20

HIGHEST PASSENGER REVENUE IN THE MONTH OF MAY
• Passenger Revenue for the month of May’22 was Rs.252.25 Crores, which
is highest ever for any May during the last 6 years. The previous highest
was Rs. 211.84 Crores in May’2017.

HIGHEST PRS EARNINGS IN THE MONTH OF MAY

• The PRS earnings in May’22 was Rs.174.69 crores, which is the highest
ever in the month of any May. The previous best was Rs.127.90 crores in
May’2017

HIGHEST NO. OF PRS PASSENGERS IN THE MONTH OF MAY

• The total no. of originating PRS passengers was 3.76 million in May’22
which is the highest ever. The previous highest was 2.28 million in May’18

AUGMENTATION OF COACHES
• The augmentation of coaches in May’22 was 440, which is highest ever
during the last 5 years. The previous highest augmentation was 156
coaches in May’2018.
