Who’s Kendrick?
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth
also known as K.Dot, is a 35 year old
rapper, music producer and song
writer.
He is one of the most
influential musicians of his
generation, and is known for his
great lyrics, that some consider the
best of all times.
He grew up in Compton,
California, and when he was young
he started writing some lyrics that
would then become the ones for his
first album.
Why I chose him…
Besides the fact I love Kendrick´s lyricism, voice and
rhythms, I also have another reason on why I picked him.
In relation to what we have been talking about this
term, privacy on the internet, Kendrick is quite the person we
should talk about, he values his privacy a lot, and doesn’t share
any of his private life on the media, to know anything we have
to Google it.
I believe this is a good thing, like we studied and saw,
in the movie “The Circle”, public life isn’t as good as it may
seem. And being a public figure like Lamar, people tend to want
to know more than they should.
“Because I’m so invested in who I
am outside of being famous,
sometimes that’s all I know,”
Lamar said. “I’ve always been a
person that really didn’t dive too
headfirst into wanting and
needing attention. I mean, we all
love attention, but for me, I don’t
necessarily adore it. I use it when
I want to communicate
something.”
 Kendrick has already had 47 Grammy
nominations for various categories, but there are
more to come, K.Dot keeps releasing songs that
become hits on all generations.
Grammys Out of all his nominations, he has won 17
Grammys, in categories like Best Rap Album, Best Rap
Performance or Best Music Video, which puts him in
3rd place, behind Jay-Z and Kanye West.
