Amity University, Noida, is a vibrant campus adorned with a rich diversity of flora. Nestled amidst
lush greenery, the university boasts an extensive collection of plants, each adding a unique touch to
the landscape. Here are some of them

1. Cypressus rotundus: Commonly known as the 'round-leaved cypress' or 'bhant,' this


evergreen shrub is widely distributed across tropical and subtropical regions. Its distinctive
scale-like leaves and conical shape add a touch of elegance to the campus.

2. Glycyrrhiza glabra: Also known as 'licorice,' this perennial herb is valued for its sweet-tasting
roots, which are used in various culinary and medicinal preparations. Its adaptability to
diverse environments makes it a common sight at Amity Noida.
3. Murraya koenigii: This aromatic shrub, commonly known as 'curry leaf,' is a staple in Indian
cuisine. Its fragrant leaves impart a unique flavor to curries and other dishes.

4. Parthenium hysterophorus: This herbaceous plant, commonly known as 'carrot weed,' is a


prolific weed found in wastelands and disturbed areas. Despite its invasive nature,
Parthenium hysterophorus possesses medicinal properties and is used in traditiona
medicine.
5. Prunus cerasoides: This deciduous tree, commonly known as 'wild cherry' or 'chilla,' is valued
for its edible fruits and medicinal bark. Its presence at Amity Noida provides a source of
sustenance for birds and other wildlife.

6. Neem : Neem is a native of India and is commonly known for its anti-inflammatory,
antibacterial, and antifungal properties. The leaves, bark, and seeds of the neem tree are all
used in traditional medicine to treat skin conditions, wounds, and infections. Neem oil is
also
a popular natural insecticide and pesticide.

7. Tulsi : Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is a sacred plant in Hinduism. It is considered to be a
powerful adaptogen, which means it can help the body to adapt to stress. Tulsi is also known
for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. It is commonly used to
treat colds, flu, and other respiratory infections.

8. Ashwagandha : Ashwagandha is a shrub that is native to India and the Middle East. It is
known for its calming and stress-reducing properties. Ashwagandha is also used to treat
