LEARN

 IT MEANS ACQUISITION OF NEW KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS.

 THEN YOU IMPLEMENT THE LEARNED VALUES INTO YOUR BEHAVIOUR.
 THEN YOU PASS ON WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED TO OTHER PEOPLE.
UNLEARN

• It means forgetting.
• The process to forget some existing knowledge.
• It can be planned or unplanned.
• Unlearn may not be totally voluntary; and its outcome may be positive or negative. But it
is essential part of learning.
• 90% of knowledge is Automated & Unconscious.
• To completely remove from one’s memory CURRENT HABITS = CURRENT
DESTINY.
RELEARN

• To learn something new.

• Relearn is …. Fostering the culture, that people ingrained consciously to acquire new
knowledge and skills.
• Instead of letting go of old habits we have to replace them with positive ones.
• It is also known as the savings method.
• Once considered valuable knowledge may become obsolete, so the ability to adapt and
evolve is crucial.
6 STAGES OF CHANGE

 Pre-contemplation : No need to change

 Contemplation : Maybe I need to change?
 Preparation : Ok, I’m going to change
 Action : I’m in the process of changing
 Maintenance : I’m holding on to change
 Relapse : I’ve fallen off the wagon
Let’s consider the example of technology:

We can probably grew up learning that Pluto is a

planet.
Then, all of a sudden, we had to unlearn that,
because it was no longer a planet
LEARNING: Someone learns to use a specific operating system on their
computer, understanding its features and functions.

UNLEARNING: Years later, the same person realizes that the operating
system they learned is no longer widely used. They unlearn the specific
commands and shortcuts associated with that system to adapt to a new, more
popular operating system.

RELEARNING: The person starts to learn the features and functions of the
new operating system, gaining updated knowledge and skills. They relearn
how to navigate, use applications, and customize settings in the new
environment.
HOW TO USE THIS

• Keep your mind empty to new things.

(remember - a full cup cannot be filled with fresh tea)

• Accept any possibility
• Keep your mind open to perceptions
• Understand that there is nothing good or bad, it is only the truth that matters
• Understand how humans work
• The desire to embrace a ‘new you’

Remember : Learning + Unlearning + Relearning = Change = Experience

SUMMARY

• We must unlearn to learn.

• Automated thinking and acting difficult to learn and to change.
• Stress and fear causes old knowledge to Reassert itself.
• Help people first by deciding which of the six stages best represents their position.
• Treat them depending on their stage
CONCLUSION

• Be Interesting, People are just not that into you

• For thousands of years, every civilization has valued learning. Now, learning alone is not enough. To be successful you
must master the learn, unlearn, relearn cycle of success.
• Why? Because in a rapidly changing world, unlearning and relearning are just as important as learning. It’s no longer
about continuous, acquisitive learning
• More than ever, there is a need to learn and keep learning. But in our ‘always on’ world it’s a challenge to know what to
learn.
• You also need to know what to give up
• Unlearning is giving up what is no longer true, or relevant, or helpful.
• We learn, then the world changes. We need to unlearn what is holding us back, and we need to relearn what will help us
move forward towards success.
