Only Microsoft Edge has a dual engine advantage enabling compatibility with
legacy IE sites through IE mode and modern sites with Chromium.

Areas Out of Scope for Microsoft
Area Description
Product licenses and Product licenses (Microsoft or non-Microsoft) and cloud service subscriptions are not included, unless otherwise
subscriptions stated.
Product bugs Product upgrades, bugs, and design change requests for Microsoft products
and upgrades
Deployment of Edge Deployment of Edge browser across user base is not included in the service but FastTrack assistance is available to
browser assist, and we recommend this step before working on IE retirement plans.
Admin actions or Making administrative changes in the customer's environment on behalf of the customer.

Identification of legacy Identification of legacy websites used by the customer that work only IE 11 is not included in the service. Processes to
websites identify sites outside of the recommended site discovery process is out of scope.
Test environment setup Creation of a development or test lab environment for testing is not included.

Testing Consulting for testing in a pre-production or lab environment is in scope. Testing of legacy websites in IE
compatibility mode is not included, Microsoft consultants can refer to existing tools.
Coding Creating or editing code to help modernize IE dependent applications
Remediation Fixing any issues found in legacy websites that do not work as expected in IE compatibility mode of Edge browser is
not included. Microsoft consultants will refer customers to engage with App Assure.
User communications Microsoft will not manage any direct user communications associated with the engagement.

Training Formal in-class user training related to products or technology that includes workshops, classrooms, and training
materials, unless explicitly listed as in scope in the Areas in scope section.
