Intro
Schoology is a learning management system (LMS) that can be used in both
synchronous and asynchronous classroom settings. It allows users to share
content, collaborate, and create within one system. Schoology is utilized in our
district (St. Mary’s County Public School)for both distance education and in
person education. It has allowed educators to keep students and families
connected in any learning environment.
Key/Differentiating Features
Key Features
● Creation of Courses: Easy course creation that allows easily
accessible and organizable assignments.

● Program integration: (Edpuzzle, Nearpod, MyAccess,

Clever)- Seamless transitions to commonly used educational
software

● Gradebook: Multi-featured grading system that allows

offline/online submissions, assessments and discussion to
organize and calculate student scores.

● Calendars, Notifications, Reminders: Notifications to keep

track of student assignments and student assignment
submissions, comments and questions. Calendar/reminders to
keep track of upcoming or past due assignments.
Key/Differentiating Features Continued…
● UDL Approach: One of Schoology’s best/differentiating
features is the learning system’s ability to implement
Universal Design For Learning. Schoology allows for
multiple means of engagement by interacting with other
programs that allows students to create material, learn
through gaming and map pivotal content material.
Schoology allows multiple means of representation and
expression such as discussion board, audio/video
options/responses, voicethreads, image selection/creation,
google suite tools, and multiple choices of assessment
completion. Schoology also uses an APP for tablet and
cellphone uses to encourage mobile learning.
Primary Use/Audience

● Other fields of employment
have learning management
systems solely equipped for
their fields.
