THE BULLYING
Definition of bullying

 Bullying or harassment is aggression to exert power


over another person. Specifically, researchers have
defined it as a series of hostile, physical or verbal
threats that are repeated, distressing the victim and
establishing a power imbalance between them and
their harasser.

Bullying causes

 The main cause of bullying or harassment at school


is the family environment, victims and aggressors
have a family history associated with authoritarian,
overprotective parents, domestic violence and lack of
communication.
bullying consequences

 Children who are bullied are more likely to


experience the following: Depression and anxiety,
increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes
in eating and sleeping patterns, and loss of interest in
activities they used to enjoy. These problems can
continue into adulthood.
How can we avoid bullying

 The saying applies: “do not do to others what you would


not like them to do to you.” Support those classmates
who feel alone in class. Do not use violence as a defense
mechanism or to solve problems with other colleagues. If
you witness any case of bullying, notify your school
authorities. Open the eyes. ... Listen and respect. ...
