Does the moon change it shape?

No, the moon does not change it shape.


The shapes that we see in the sky during
the night is caused by the illuminated
portion on the moon as it move around the
earth. If the whole surface of the moon
facing the earth is hit by the sunlight, we
see a full moon.
Does the ball change its shape?

The image of the moon does not


look the same the whole month.
Sometimes it is a full circle sometimes
you see only half of it, and sometimes
appears as crescent.
Why do you think it happen?

Because when the moon is


between the appearance of the
quarter moon and new moon the
moon is called crescent.

What are the four main phases of the moon?

• How many days does it take for the moon to
complete one phase?
29 ½ days

• Does the moon shine on its own light?

• The moon does not have a light of its own.


It only reflect its light from the sun.
