DIWALI
• Diwali, Dewali, Divali, or Deepavali, also known as the
Festival of Lights, related to Jain Diwali, Bandi Chhor
Divas, Tihar, Swanti, Sohrai, and Bandna, is a Dharmic
religious festival and one of the most important festivals
within Hinduism.
• Diwali symbolises the spiritual victory of light over
darkness, good over evil and knowledge over
ignorance. The lights of Diwali signify a time to destroy all
our dark desires and thoughts, eradicated dark shadows
and evils and gives us the strength and the zeal to carry
on with our goodwill for the rest of the year.
HOLI
• Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, the
Festival of Spring, and the Festival of Love, is an
ancient Hindu religious festival and one of the most
popular festivals in Hinduism. The Holi Festival is
celebrated as a way to welcome in spring, and
also is seen as a new beginning where people can
release all their inhibitions and start fresh. It is said
that during the Holi Festival, the gods turn a blind
eye, and it's one of the few times extremely devout
Hindus allow themselves to let loose.
NAVARATRI
• Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in the
honour of the goddess Durga. It spans over nine
nights, first in the month of Chaitra, and again in the
month of Sharada. It is observed for different reasons
and celebrated differently in various parts of the
Hindu Indian cultural sphere. Navratri is a time when
Hindus celebrate the goddess Durga for killing
the demon, Mahishasura. A more powerful God,
Lord Brahma, had blessed Mahishasura with the gift
of immortality because of his dedication to him, which
meant he could never die.
• The 9 days of Navratri 2022 with 9 goddesses is in the following
order - Day 1 is Shailputri, Day 2 is Brahmcharini, Day 3 is
Chandraghanta, Day 4 is Kushmanda, Day 5 is
Skandamata, Day 6 is Katyayani, Day 7 is Kaalratri, Day 8 is
Mahagauri, and Day 9 is Siddhidatri.
DURGA PUJA

• Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava,


is an annual Hindu festival originating in the Indian
subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the
Hindu goddess Durga and is also celebrated because of
Durga's victory over Mahishasur. Durga Puja celebrates
the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon
king Mahishasura. It begins on the same day as
Navratri, a nine-night festival in many northern and
western states that more broadly celebrates the divine
feminine (shakti).
VIJAYADASHAMI

• Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, Dasara or


Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end
of Navaratri every year. Dussehra, also called Dasara or
Vijayadashami, in Hinduism, holiday marking the
triumph of Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, over the 10-
headed demon king Ravana, who abducted Rama's
wife, Sita. The festival's name is derived from the
Sanskrit words dasha (“ten”) and hara (“defeat”).
JANMASHTAMI


• Krishna Janmashtami lit. ''Occasion of the birth of Krishna'', also known simply as Krishnashtami,
Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the
eighth avatar of Vishnu. anmashtami, Hindu festival celebrating the birth (janma) of the god
Krishna on the eighth (ashtami) day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada (August–
September). The number eight has another significance in the Krishna legend in that he is the
eighth child of his mother, Devaki.

• Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Vinayaka Chaviti or Ganeshotsav is a
Hindu festival commemorating the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha. The festival is marked with the
installation of Ganesha's clay murtis privately in homes and publicly on elaborate pandals. Ganesh
Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi, in Hinduism, 10-day festival marking the birth of the
elephant-headed deity Ganesha, the god of prosperity and wisdom. It begins on the fourth day
(chaturthi) of the month of Bhadrapada (August–September), the sixth month of the Hindu calendar.
