TSA’S

TECHNICAL SKILLS ASSESSMENT


WHAT IS A TSA?
• CTE Technical Skills Assessments are designed to certify and document student attainment of
industry-validated knowledge and skills through an online testing applications. TSA’s are one of the
elements that are considered “essential” for a complete career and technical program.
• Why are TSA’s important
For students:
1.Develop and articulate valuable technical and employability skills sought by employers.
2. Enter the world after graduation confident in their ability to meet their employer’s needs
3. Earn a Workforce Readiness and Career Technical Diploma
For employer’s:
1. Identify candidates who possess the employability skills necessary to succeed in the
workplace.
HOW TO TAKE THE TSA
To take the TSA, you must complete the Financial Services Pathway at MHS:
1. Introduction to Business and Finance (prerequisite for Accounting I)
2. Accounting 1 – (prerequisite for Accounting II)
3. Accounting II (capstone)

While you are in the capstone course you will prepare for, register, and take the
Applied Accounting TSA. The capstone is offered both in the Fall and Spring.
