WHAT IS A NETWORK?
A system in which some elements are
connected to the other elements in a
systematic way.
For our purpose we think of networks as as
any system or group of interconnected people
or things.

ACTOR OR LINKS OR TIES FLOW


NODES
ACTORS OR NODES

The entities that


are interconnected
in some
systematic way.
LINKS OR TIES
The connection
among the actors in
the networks, links
can be any
relationship like
marriage, friendship
and others.
FLOW
The things that are being
exchanged by the actors
through their links.
Flows are usually
information (data or
knowledge) and resources
(money, goods, equipment
and etc)

Social networks are
networks aided by
technology. While a
computer network is a
group of interconnected
computers exchanging
information and sharing
some devices such as

Networks
classified in terms
of geographical
boundaries or
coverage.
WHY STUDY NETWORKS?

1.Networks are
everywhere.
2.Networks
significantly affect
the quality of our
life.
MOREOVER…
Networks, partly determine our oppurtunities
and limitations in life.
A person with networks will have a better
chances of succeeding in life than a person with
fewer ones
It also help us reach the fullest of our
potentials.
