The r.v. X can result in one of the same two possible outcomes, which we denote by
success (S), and failure (F), taking X=1 or X=0 respectively.

Moreover, the probability of success is constant from trial to trial; we denote this
probability by p, and then: p(X=1) = p and p(X=0) = 1 - p, where 0 < p < 1.
