•MAGNET:
It is a naturally occurring substance which attracts the things made up of cobolt, Iron,
and nickel and when it is suspended freely it always points towards geographical north
and south.
•MAGNETIC FIELD:
Region around the magnet in which its effect can be experienced is called “Magnetic
field”.
•MAGNETIC SUBSTANCES:
Those substances which are attracted by magnet or can be magnetized are called
“Magnetic Substance”.
EXAMPLE: Iron, Nickle ,Cobolt.
•NON-MAGNETIC SUBSTANCES:
Those substances which are neither attracted nor repelled by magnet are called Non-
Magnetic substances.
EXAMPLE: Glass,Wood,Paper
• FERROMAGNETIC SUBSTANCES:
Substances which behaves like a magnet in the presence of a strong magnetic field is
called ferromagnetic substances.
EXAMPLE:Iron,Nickle,Cobalt
