PROJECT
Alcohol detection using Arduino UNO

Introduction:

 Alcohol detection plays a crucial role in ensuring safety on the roads and in various
public settings.
 The alcohol sensor is technically referred to as a MQ3 sensor which detects ethanol
in the air.
 When a drunk person breathes near the alcohol sensor it detects the ethanol in his
breathe and provides an output based on alcohol concentration.
Flow Chart
WORKING:

 The MQ-3 sensor operates based on the principle of gas detection through a chemical
reaction.
 The sensor contains a small heating element that heats up a metal oxide
semiconductor (MOS) sensor. When alcohol vapors are present in the air, they interact
with the MOS sensor, causing a change in its electrical resistance.
 The sensor then sends a signal to a microcontroller, which can be used to turn on and
off the LED.

Internship responsibilities

 Learning and working with HTML and CSS to create and style web pages or
interfaces for IoT devices..
 Working with 10-15 different types of sensors and learning how to use them to
collect and analyze data.
 Completing assignments and project in a timely and thorough manner.

 A project was assigned by forming a team to improve teamwork and leadership

quality.
Skills acquired
 HTML

 CSS

 Python

 SQLite3

 Working with ESP8266 , Arduino IDE

 Information about Sensors and actuators

Overall experience
 Overall my Internship experience at Govt Tool Room & Training Centre, Hubli
was a valuable experience and worthwhile in gaining practical exposure to
INTERNET OF THING.

 The Internship helped me enhance my interest in the field of IOT in such a way
that I could see it as one of my career option in near future.

 It also helped me gain in depth knowledge about the various software & hardware
tools.
Conclusions

 GTTC were successful in giving in-depth knowledge and understanding of the

software and its basic as well as important features.

 A hands on experience on working on the assigned project was performed and

completed.

 The desired outcome of the project was also achieved.
