Updates from the IBO

In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the loss of instructional

time that impacted IB students in 2020 is also affecting

result, it has been decided that the adaptations put in place
for 2021 will be extended for the May 2022 and November
2022 sessions. All the information published for the 2021

ATTENDANCE

▶ The formative feedback after the exams is probably the most

important part of the whole examination process in terms of
your learning.
▶ Don't miss your examinations for anything other than
unavoidable illness. Your parents will need to advise us of
your absence and a medical note will be needed.

▶ During the exam week, you will sign in on a list outside

Ms Brown’s office. There will be NO registration. Make sure
to do this, as not doing so will disrupt the examination session
for you – we will send you out of the exam to sign in. This
really is essential- we need to know who is on campus at
any time. © International Baccalaureate Organization 2007
We have a number of ways in which we support you to prepare for
the mid-course examinations:
● In the two weeks prior to Songkran, Home Learning is revision-
related only
● Year 12 will have a session reviewing effective retrieval and
revision techniques on Thursday March 25th in Tutorial
● Lesson time during the final week of Term 2 will focus on exam
preparation
● You all have an opportunity to check in with your teachers after
Songkran on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April, before the
examinations start on Wednesday 21st
● Materials and resources are provided via Firefly
● Teacher guidance continues to be provided on planning and 8
using time effectively © International Baccalaureate Organization 2007
It is important that you aim to make the most of this
opportunity and plan revision time accordingly. It is expected
that you will work towards these examinations during the
coming few weeks and not leave it all until the last minute;
‘little and often' is a good approach to take.
It is important that time at Songkran is a balance of rest,
family time and some revision.
