Problem Statement and Existing solution
Problem Statement : How can we develop and provide cheap, indigenous and
operationally flexible offensive UAV platform for armed forces?

Existing solution : NIL

As countries such as Russia and Iran are developing self-destructing offensive

solutions, which have proven to be battle-efficient, India is yet to embark on its
own indigenous kamikaze platforms mainly due to cost and manufacturing
concerns.
Introduction

Peace is the biggest illusion war is the only constant. Noting the growing
demand in UAVs in the domain of defense we develop what we call as an
all weather Kamikaze Vritra drone. The self-destructing UAV would be
India’s first such drone. We intend the platform to be innovative,
indegenous, cheap and operationally flexible for the armed forces.
Objective
❏ Destroy the intended target on collision.
❏ To improve stealth characteristics of UAV and the range of flight
while maintaining its cost efficiency.
❏ To provide a self-made platform for secure encrypted guidance and
communication

Material Selection
❏ Fuselage: Expanded Polypropylene Foam
❏ Control surfaces - Balsa wood
❏ Kevlar- Insulation for electrical components
❏ PETN- Military grade explosive (getting it needs special approval, so we will
be using the Potassium nitrate)
❏ Tungsten filament
Mechanism and Design-Aerodynamics
Design is under patent process.(March 2023).

❏ We have roughly estimated an RCS of just 1mm²,

which is less than the bird.
❏ So its new and unique and it generates better lift,
the lift to drag is also high.
❏ We have done the design using Solidworks and
analysis using mechanical apdl 23.0.
❏ Explosion process: Expansion of the potassium
nitrate through fuselage and then we will use a bolt
mechanism to ignite.
Communication using LoRa
❏ LoRa makes the communication secured and encrypted.
❏ It has 433MHz communication channel with bit rate ranging from
500-5460 BPS, that is better than currently existing FLYSKY
controllers.
❏ Required power supply for LoRa is just 3.3V. It only consumes 1mV
when it is idle.
Specifications based on Calculations
Material: Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) foam
Structure: 2 wing panels with elevons
Wingspan: 1000mm
Weight ≈ 650 g
Centre of Gravity: 200 mm behind nose tip
Wing Area : 0.25 P
Wing Aspect Ratio = 4
Wing loading : 25.5N/m²
Propulsion : 8-9 inch propellor connected to a 1200-1500 kV BLDC Motor
Range: 15km without obstacles, else 5km
RCS : 0.01m²
Future uses and Application
❏ Offensive swarm drone units.
❏ Targeted covert operations.
❏ Improved stealth by reduced RCS and infrared signatures.
❏ Tactical offensive units in different terrains.
❏ Suitable for mass manufacturing thereby stimulating growth in the defense
UAV sector.
❏ The range of data communication is the best and never existing, i.e. 15km
without any obstacle.
❏ The LoRa module works by using spread-spectrum and CSS modulation
techniques to enable long-range communication with low power consumption.
