• The founder of CIIE is Kunal Upadhyay.

• It is an Indian technology business incubator that supports enterpreneurs in IT, cleantech,
healthcare, and education sectors.
• In 2002, the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) was started at IIM
Ahmedabad by a few faculty members as a research centre focused on studying the trends in
areas of innovation and entrepreneurship in India.
• In 2004, the idea of setting up an incubator was initiated in partnership with Government of
India and Government of Gujarat.
 CIIE SECTOR

Centre for innovation and incubation and entrepreneurship

was originally set up 2012 as a research institution, it is a
government institute located in Vastrapur , Ahmedabad and
was set up with a grant pool from Government of Gujurat ,
the department of science and technology and IIMA . It now
operates as a section 8 non profit company under Companies
Act 2013.
 CIIE ACTIVTIES

• Providing support to startups. CIIE will support in scaling up early stage

startups and facilitate converting business ideas into entrepreneurial ventures.
• Fostering culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Building an entrepreneurship ecosystem.
