 Chapter 2 : Theoretical Framework
 This research chapter presents the review of related literature and studies, addresses
the research theories, identifies the concepts, describes the research hypothesis and
enumerates the research variables.
 Research Theory

- Emphasized thesis statement based on the accumulated idea from the reviewed
articles
- Research Theory is the representation of the constructs, assumptions and concepts
of the research based on the scientific articles.

 Chapter 3 - Research Methodology

 Presents the structure of the data collection


 States the necessary methods to be used in a research study
Parts of the Research Methodology
1. Research Design - indicates the type of research to be accomplished
2. Samples and Sampling Procedures – describes the respondents of the study and how the
respondents are comprehensively selected for the research study
3. Research Locus - states the place and context of the study and the data collection
4. Instrumentation – describes the instruments to be used in the study and how these
research instruments are constructed and validated
5. Data Gathering Procedure – describes how the necessary research data will be collected
6. Statistical Analysis of Data - states and justifies the appropriate statistical treatment to
be used in a certain research

INSTRUMENT DEVELOPMENT
 Parts of a Research Questionnaire
 1. Consent Letter - describes the document that informs the respondents about the research. It
 also asks permission to the respondents on participating to the research study. It also
 establishes that all information given by the respondents are also used for the research
 purposes.
 2. Directions – provide a clear instruction to the respondents on answering the questionnaire
 3. Research Statements - questions to be answered by the respondents
 4. Rating Scales - the numerical scales that indicate the answers of the respondents on the
 research questions
 5. Description - the interpretative idea of the rating scale that indicates a state of familiarity on
 the research statement
 6. Demographic Profile - the information of the respondents regarded as nominal values and can
 be used in presenting and analyzing results

INSTRUMENT DEVELOPMENT
 Type of Research Instrument
 1. Survey Questionnaire - a document that contains set of constructed and validated
research
 statements and will be described and analyzed through the rating scales.
 2. Assessment - a set of examination that measures competency based on a
particular
 academic discipline
 3. Product Evaluation - a form of evaluation that analyzes the level of effectiveness of
an
 experimental product and are expressed through criteria

 1. Agreement Type Questions – describe the observed situations based on expressing a decision

 necessary and frequent an idea is established

 3. Evaluative Type of Questions - describe the observed situations based on expressing an

 evaluation on quality, competency, function, purpose, efficacy and/or possibility.

 4.Multiple Choice Type of Questions - questions that are used in assessments with a

 corresponding correct answer. These are used in analyzing correlational researches

 5. Response – based Questions - questions that provide specific ideas that can be statistically be

 analyzed.

INSTRUMENT DEVELOPMENT
 Validation Letter
 - A document that indicates that all research statements are checked and validated.
 - Presents that all research statements are correct and accurate enough and can be
used
 in a data gathering procedure.
 - Without the research validation, questionnaire cannot be assured to be used in a
data
 collection.
 - Once a research instrument is validated, it can be used for data collection which
provides
 possible comprehensive research findings.
WEEK 4: LESSON 4: DATA COLLECTION, DATA
ORGANIZATION AND DATA ANALYSIS

Data Collection- is the process of acquiring research results to the respondents


based on a
quantitative survey.
Data Organization is the process of classifying the research results through
tables, charts and tally
 Data Analysis is the organized process of analyzing the result based on the
statistical treatment

being conducted.
