 Sign up your RefWorks account subscribed by CUHK

 Follow given steps to create a bibliography using RefWorks

 Follow given steps to cite a Wikipedia page

 Search, use and cite a public domain image

 Prepare and insert your academic honesty declaration

 Save your work in a new Word document

 Upload and submit your saved file to Blackboard

If you cannot see the "Submit preferences"
button at the bottom, zoom out the page
(scale down browser view) repeatedly
until you can see the button!
If you cannot Click on First name / Last name fields,

Pick Area of focus and Role first,

then Press keyboard short-cut keys Shift-Tab twice.


Click on [Get started] pop-up,
“add our example folder”

OR

Click [My Folders]  Add folder 


Name your new folder as [Example Folder]

Send my exports to new RefWorks
CUHK Library Catalog
Search digital literacy
Import Reference
Assign to Example Folder
Last Imported into
Example Folder

Search from CUHK Library (go back two slides) and


import THREE more entries into your RefWorks account.

You MUST pick three entries that the first letter of the
surname (i.e., last name) of the first author is the same
as yours. For example, CHUNG et al. if your surname is
CHAN. One more example is CUN et al.
Create Bibliography

Tick the THREE entries that match


the first letter of your surname

Create Bibliography
(Selected references)
Pick Chicago Style
Start Microsoft Word
Create New Blank Document
 Paste the bibliography generated and copied from RefWorks in Chicago Style
into the new Word document
 NOW, your bibliography shall contain exactly 3 items from RefWorks

 Browse Wikipedia article on Creative Commons


 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons
 Click View history at the top, pick the version on 15 December 2022
 Click side-pane Tools  Cite this page
 Copy the Chicago Style citation
 Paste and insert it to your bibliography in alphabetical order of first author name in the
Word document
Wikipedia contributors, "Creative Commons," Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia, …
 Apply a consistent font and style to the whole bibliography/ document

 Save the Word document file as Lab04_CitationManagement.docx

Image Search are good for this task:

 Find a dolphin image that satisfies the following criteria:


 Color image of a dolphin
 Source image width shall be at least 500 pixels
 Source image height shall be at least 500 pixels
 Image file format/ filetype:JPG
 Usage Rights: Public Domain or Creative Commons licenses
 PD Public Domain Mark/ “No Known Copyright”
 CC0 “No Rights Reserved”
 CC BY (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/)
 CC BY-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/)

 Insert the image into your Word document, before the bibliography;
resize the image to fit your document width
 Add a caption at the bottom of the image to attribute/ make a reference according
to the license, including at least the Usage Rights, the source URL (to the image or
to some webpage hosting the image) AND owner name

dolphin image.
 You should NOT share your file to others, regardless of your intention
 You should NOT obtain other’s works by any means
 Submitting the wrong file by “accident” will NOT be accepted as an excuse – so please
double-check which file you have submitted

 Under [Attach Files], Browse and select your saved
file Lab04_CitationManagement.docx from your
newly created folder
 Do NOT Write Submission or type in Comments box
 Click [Submit] button
