 CPEC is the connectivity of China and Pakistan with 2700 km

Road, Railway line, Optical fiber, Oil and Gas Pipeline.

Southern Pakistan Gawadar port to the Western region of China

Kashghar (Xinjiang).

 It is the biggest project in the history of China and Pakistan

relationships.
 CPEC Bridging Silk Road Economic Belt & Maritime Silk Road.

billion US$.

The Idea of CPEC was given

by Chinese premier Li Keqiang
in Pakistan in May, 2013 4

during his visit to Pakistan.

 Importance of CPEC

 The proposed trade route of CPEC will reduce distance between Kashghar

China (4,376km away from Beijing) & the Persian Gulf to 2,700 km as

opposed to the existing distance of about 13,000 km from Beijing to the

Persian Gulf.

 Reduce the shipping time from 45 days to 10 days.

 The main contribution is the economic growth, the reduction of logistics

costs and transportation time along supply chains. 7

 Eventually will help improve trade competitiveness & strengthen Pakistan.

 CPEC impacts

 The Chinese Government has a plan to transform Kashghar into a

regional center for economic activity, a trading hub, main
processing center for regional & international goods & regional
logistic center.
 The expected revenues from Oil & Gas transit & land to sea trade
will be total around $1,000,000 per year. For Pakistan.
 The Current trade volume is about US$ 15billion between China
and Pakistan and will reach approximately US$ 50 billion in 2020.
 GDP Growth rate rises above 6-7%.
 Development of Economic Zones
Eight Special Economic Zones in different areas of the country
will be establish which directly related to Pakistani industrial
layout and economic development.
This would help reducing the manufacturing and transport costs
for Chinese goods.
 With the development of CPEC the living standard of Pakistani
people are improving .
CPEC will reduce the Poverty in Pakistan through jobs and

 46 New hospitals will be establish under CPEC. Nationwide Network of

Hospitals is a Big Development in Health Sector.

 CPEC will also have positive impact on the Education. Scholarships for

the students of both countries are awarded to exchange their ideas and

culture.
 Many Pak-China Schools & Establishing a World class National

University of Maritime Sciences at Gwadar is part of the CPEC.

 The tourist would easily access the beautiful northern areas of Pakistan.
 Importance of CPEC

 The economic corridor between Pakistan & China is need of the hour.
 It can really turn the situation for Pakistan and repair the broken
economy.

 So, it has every reason to say that the construction of CPEC is important

for the development and stability of Pakistan and Xinjiang.

 The China Pakistan Economic Corridor can boost trade and economic

ties, which can trigger into economic prosperity, peace, stability
