Learning objective: To use like, hate, love with the –ing form of verbs.

GERUND
Noun made from a verb adding –ing.
• Read = reading
It can be used as the subject, the
complement or the object of a sentence.
Reading helps you learn English. (subject)
Her favorite hobby is reading. (complement)
I enjoy reading. (object)
INFINITIVE
It is the “to” form of the verb.
• Learn = to learn
It can be used as the subject, the complement or the
object of a sentence.
To learn is important. (subject)
The most important thing is to learn. (complement)
He wants to learn. (object)
