History of Unilever

Unilever Indonesia was originally founded as "Lever's Zeepfabrieken N.V." on December 5,


1933. Since then, it has become one of the top Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
companies in Indonesia. Its products have been a part of the daily lives of the Indonesian
community since its establishment.

1933 Company was founded

1936 Introduced Lux soap in Indonesia.

1982 Unilever Indonesia conducts an initial public offering listing 15%


of its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the ticker code
UNVR.

1990 Opening of a personal care product factory in Rungkut, Surabaya


and acquiring SariWangi and entering the tea business.

1992 The opening of Wall's ice cream factory in Cikarang and


introducing Conello and Paddle Pop products.

2001 The acquisition of Bango, the beginning of Unilever Indonesia's
entry into the soy sauce business.

2008 The opening of a new factory for the largest skin care products in
Asia, the acquisition of Buavita and Gogo, and the start of
implementing SAP in all our operations in Indonesia.

2012 Successfully achieved the goal of doubling the business in five


years, achieving sales results of more than Rp27 trillion.

2013 Launching "Project Sunlight", an initiative to inspire people to


create a brighter future for Indonesian children and future
generations, marks the 80th anniversary of Unilever's journey in
Indonesia.
2014 The launch of the 'Bitobe for Indonesia' programme as part of
Lifebuoy's long-term commitment to a healthier Indonesia.

2015 The opening of the 9th factory which occupies an area of 6 hectares
in Cikarang and has an annual production capacity of 7 million units
of seasonings and soy sauce.

Occupying a new head office in an area of 3 hectares, located in the


2016 Green Building in BSD City, Tangerang. The office houses about
1,500 employees and was inaugurated in 2017.

2017
Commemorating the 35th anniversary of Unilever Indonesia's listing Our Mile
stones
on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Launched a new category, namely the chili sauce category by


2018 presenting the Jawara chili sauce brand and launched a new body
care brand Korea Glow.

Obtain shareholder approval for the change in the nominal value of


2019
the Company's shares from a nominal value of IDR 10 (ten Rupiah)
per share to IDR 2 (two Rupiah) per share, due to the stock split
effective as of January 2, 2020.
Launched a #MariBerbagiPeran campaign with a commitment of
2020 IDR 200 billion for the community to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

Launched the "Unilever Muslim Centre of Excellence" (Unilever


2021 MCOE) as a sharia economic centre and insight for the various
innovations and products needed by Unilever Muslim consumers in
Indonesia and the world.
