ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
:
I wish to express my deep gratitude towards
my partners Riddhi Wadhwa,Piyush Hirwal
and Satchit Joshi for their support,
companionship, and invaluable inputs.

I would also like to express my gratitude and

thanks towards my English teacher,
Ms.Sarmistha Ganguli, for her guidance,
input, and encouragement, without which this
project may not have been possible.

I also want to thank my friends and family

for supporting me in this project as well as
providing valuable feedback.

Lastly, I would like to thank my classmates

for helping by filling out the surveys
provided by us.
ACTION PLAN:

1. Topic Selection.
2. Approval of the topic by the teacher in
charge.
3. Preparation of a questionnaire.
4. Getting a questionnaire filled by
classmates.
5. Data collection and analysis.
6. Making a presentation to present the
data collected to classmates.
7. Preparing a detailed report submitted in
the form of a project file.
METHODOLOGY:

The first step for me was deciding what to put

on the questionnaire. This was made possible
with the help of my team’s input. Then the
challenge was to find suitable candidates for
the survey. For this, we decided to get the
survey filled out by our classmates and
neighbours who use plastic bags in their day to
day life. We then compiled their responses in
the form of a presentation, along with the
basics of plastic bags. We ended our
presentation with alternatives to plastic bags.
We also researched the impact of these plastic
bags on the health of our environment. Then
we ended our project by compiling all of the
data and responses collected by us in the form
of a project file.
OBJECTIVE:

This project enlightens us why we should not

use plastic bags and the alternatives we have
already put which can be put into action slowly
and steadily.

It discusses the reality behind plastic bags

and the impact of these in our day-to-day
lives and the world, and how they harm and
pollute the environment.

It further discusses the various alternatives

to plastic bags that are available to us and the
need to give up the use of plastic as its
negatives are more than its positives. Even
though its reliable and durable it is also the
cause of numerous problems in the world.
INTRODUCT
ION:
Plastic has become increasingly ubiquitous in the
packaging industry due to its durability and affordability.

But…

Why not plastic bags?

The fact that a vast majority of plastic does not

biodegrade easily, coupled with the short ‘usespan’ of
packaging, has caused a multitude of global concerns
ranging from the ingestion of microplastics, the production
of harmful toxins and land pollution to name a few.

So we have found some alternatives to this which are:

Grass Paper

Stubble paper

Olive Pits

Fish Waste and Algae

CONCLUSION:

I would like to conclude by saying that even

though plastic bags are durable, reliable and
affordable, you should still stop their use, a
wide variety of options are still available as
alternatives to plastic bags, and these are
equally durable and affordable. Moreover,
they don't harm the environment and are
eco-friendly. I think it is the need of the
hour to make people aware of these
alternatives and sensitize them as plastic
bags are causing huge harm to us and the
environment. This is the world we have to
live in and we should keep it healthy in order
to keep ourselves healthy.
REFLECTION:

My project, "Team Antithenes" is very relevant to my

plans for the future. I, like most of my classmates, used
plastic bags for most of my life. But, this project helped
me find out how many people like me also use plastic
bags in their day to day life without realising its
negatives, based on a survey taken by people. All of this
has made me realise that nearly all of my classmates
use plastic in some way or the other and need to be
aware of its impacts.

This project required a lot of team work and dedication

but with the help of my friends i was able to complete it.

This project, through my presentation, also helped me

interact with my classmates by spreading awareness
about plastic and its alternative options that will provide
equally good durability and reliability..

Through this project, I have managed to create

awareness about the impact of these plastic bags and
its alternatives.
