LIFE IN SOCIAL

z MEDIA VS
REALITY
Laiba Arshad
z
 Life on social media can sometimes
feel like a whole different world
compared to reality. On social media,
people often show the highlights of
their lives and filter out the not-so-
great moments. It can create this
illusion that everyone’s life is perfect
and full of excitement. But in reality,
life is a mix of ups and downs. It’s
important to remember that what we
see on social media is just a snippet
of someone’s life, not the whole
picture.

HOW PEOPLE
ARE ACTUALLY
DIFFERENT
FROM SOCIAL
MEDIA VS
REALITY
z

• Filters and Facades: Social

media platforms offer various
filters and editing tools that can
alter appearances and create
unrealistic beauty standards. It’s
crucial to embrace our authentic
selves and not get caught up in
the pursuit of unattainable
perfection.
z
Mental Health Impact: Constant exposure to idealized lives on social media can contribute
to feelings of anxiety, and depression. For example, If the person passes through his
difficult phase first he needs to stop using social media otherwise when he scrolls it he just
feels like the most unhappy person in this world which is not true. Everyone faces ups and
downs but they share only their happy moments

What this teaches us:

 Excessive use of social media can lead
to addiction, waste of valuable time,
and a sign of disconnection from our
loved ones, Social media impacts our
daily lives and just destroys us from
the inside. We all have to balance our
lives with social media and try to
connect with people physically rather
than on social media.
