• Know the strategies in preparing Forum Discussion.


• Make the discussion relevant to the audience.
WHAT ISAFORUM DISCUSSION?
GROUP/ FORUM DISCUSSION:
 A group discussion is when a group of people talk about a certain subject.

 You have to talk about the topic and give facts, opinions, and your conclusions.
THE PURPOSE
To test our abilities and skills, such as our:
 leadership
 communication
 social
 behavioural skills
 courtesy
 teamwork
 listening skills
 general knowledge
 self-confidence
 ability to solve problems.
TYPES OF GROUP/ FORUM DISCUSSION
 Factual group conversations:
• These are real-world dialogues that assess your capacity to process information and analyse
socioeconomic or everyday challenges.
- MARA: does it help students?

 Opinion-Based Group Discussion:


• Assess your ability to explain opinions and points of view.
• These group discussions tend to be more about opinions than facts.
- Celebrity or academician?

 Case study-based group talks:


• These discussions simulate real-world situations.
- The attitudes of KPTM KB semester 2 students

 Abstract Group Discussions:


• Magic Wand/ bright/ rainbow
THE PROCESS OF GROUP/ FORUM DISCUSSION
Topic Announcement:
The subject announcement is the initial step in any GD. You
will introduce the subject.

Preparation Time:
This is a preparation period during which all the speakers will
be allowed to have 2 to 5 minutes to prepare their content.

Discussion Starts:
At this point, one of the GD member will start the
conversation.

Discussion among participants:


Discuss and ask questions to generate and encourage
discussion.

Results:
This is the last step in this process, where the discussion
ratings for each candidate are announced depending on their
performance –choose the best answers
