populated country in the world
with nearly a fifth of the world's
population.

population doubled to
1.2 billion. The Indian
population reached the billion
mark in 1998. India is
projected to be the world's
most populous country by
2027, surpassing the population
of China.

2016–17.

position in 2019 in terms of exports.
India exported US $330.2 billion and imported
$514.9 billion worth of commodities in 2019.

GDP in 2017.
India's largest trading partners in descending
order of value of total trade are the United
Arab Emirates, China, United States, Saudi
Arabia, Switzerland, Singapore, Germany, Hong
Kong, Indonesia, Iraq, Russia and Japan.
WHEAT RICE PRODUCTION
AND
LOVE FOR MANGOS
There are over 1000 varieties of mangoes in India.
Less than 20 are grown commercially.
The World's 36% of mangoes are produced in
India [18 million tonnes]. Second, on the list,
China only produces 4 million tonnes.
Despite being the highest producer in the world,
the share of Indian mangoes in global mango trade
is less than 3% - that too in the canned form. The
share of fresh mangoes exports is negligible for
India.
That means more fruit for us at home. At home,
UP produces 23% of all Indian mangoes, AP
produces 22% and Karnataka produces 11% - so
those 3 states produce over 50% of all mangoes.
OTHER STATS (SHORT VIDEO)

India is a large country and thus, understandably

hard to grasp. To make things easier, we visualize an
India with just 100 people with the relative
composition the same as the real nation. Here is how
an India with 100 people would be like.
