 Introduction
The Grade five students at Oldmead
Primary School have decided that they
were going to attempt to achieve all 17 of
the sustainability goals for the world
alongside the United Nations. They
understood that there are significant issues
facing the future of our planet and they
wanted to do something about it and all in
10 weeks!

achieve and to use our voice to get as many
people involved as possible.

WRITING TO THE
MINISTER
We decided to write a letter
to the minister of education
to invite him to our school.
We wanted to talk about our
feelings regarding
educational standards in
rural areas of our country.
THE RESULT
The minister for education
turned up at our school and held
a discussion with the families
regarding how we can help
communities less fortunate than
ours. The result was that he
promised to increase funding to
schools in rural areas to bridge
the gap in education.
