developing country like our, the film industry is
becoming more and more insignificant every day.
Good film is perfect blend of aesthetics and
technology.
To achieve all this film city is a supporting
infrastructure.The pandemic made everyone
realize that movies,webseries were source of
spending time and how it can influence our
life.Films play a major role in large no.of
people ,give good messages as well as showcase
our rich heritage and culture.
In older times,Bollywood used to dominate Indian
cinema,but now mollywood along with other
south Indian movie industries is establishing by
producing good content movies.
What is a Film City?
A film city is a dedicated complex or studio facility designed to support the production of films, television
shows, and other visual media. It provides a centralized location with various amenities and facilities essential
for the entire filmmaking process. Film cities are equipped with soundstages, outdoor sets, post-production
facilities, administrative offices, and other resources to streamline the filmmaking workflow.

Mollywood film industry

Mollywood refers to the film industry based in the southern Indian state of Kerala, where Malayalam is the
predominant language. Mollywood has a rich cinematic heritage with a history dating back to the early 20th
century. It has produced numerous critically acclaimed films that have garnered national and
international recognition.

Create a film city which would attract both the tourist and
film makers.
Creating a platform for regional cinemas with
amalgamation of art and culture.

OBJECTIVES
Develop a planning scheme which is simple and carefully
defined where the public, semipublic, private areas.
Design with combination of Natural, Creative,
Enjoyable and a relieving casual and professional
environment.
Increase the quality of the films.
Reduce risk and increase security of filmmakers, artists
and related to technical equipment
Increasing public attraction.

SCOPE
• A film city in Kochi serve as a focal point for mollywood
industry celebrating its cultural richness and contributing to
cinematic heritage.

• Establishing a film city could strengthen ties with

filmmakers, production houses and other industry
stakeholders.

• Can host film festivals,industry events, creating platform for

showcase of mollywood films.

Taramani, Adyar, named after the popular film actor
and long-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, late M. G.
Ramachandran, MGR Film City is a popular tourism
and recreation centre was established in 1994.

• The MGR film City is a film studio complex situated

in Chennai, attracts both filmmakers and the tourists.
