Artificial

intelligence in
animation
What is animation?
Animation is a method of photographing successive
paintings, models or even puppets to create the illusion
of movement in a sequence. Since our eyes can only
retain an image for 1/16 of a second, when multiple
images appear in succession, the brain blends them into
a moving image.
What is CGI?
Animated images created with artificial intelligence are called
CGI.
According to Moore's law, the cost of computing power
decreases over time, and on the other hand, the available
computing power increases. This allows animators to have
increasingly powerful computers at their disposal to create
their models. Now animators can place their 3D models in 3D
space and make them interact with objects in the
environment. The time of using 2D layers has come and in
their place more delicate pieces of objects have been
introduced. This level of detail has allowed us to see realistic
output in the form of modern CGI animations.
One notable use of CGI in the 1990s
was James Cameron's Terminator 2:
Judgment Day. The 1000 robots had
this sex film of liquid metal that allowed
them to morph into anything they
touched.
At the same time, a small film production studio with its own efforts,

In the case of animation films, it completely changed. Pixar company

Former Disney animator John Lester is one of the first real CGI

He created a novel called Toy Story in 1995.

Current technological advancements in creating movies have
made it easier and reduced the limits to express our ideas.
Artificial intelligence animations were developed in the early
20th century.

Computer scientists such as Evan Sutherland and William

Fetter played an important role in laying the groundwork for
computer-aided visualization.

. They covered the fundamentals of computer graphics and set

the stage for what would eventually become artificial
intelligence-based animation.
However, with their efforts, artificial intelligence had a limited
role in animation and the better animators used manual and
uncomplicated methods.
The pivotal and significant point of artificial intelligence in
animation occurred at the end of the 20th century, and this
transformation was mainly accompanied by technological leaps
in image recognition, the use of neural sensors, and deep
learning.
These advances allowed computers to analyze and mimic
complex human gestures and expressions. This new feature
opened up a realm of possibilities for animators. They could
now imagine animated characters and scenes with an
unimaginable level of realism. Boring tasks became less of a
problem.
One of the most useful and main tools in
the field of animation
Motion capture is widely used in movies
and animations.
The use of this tool is to facilitate the
animation process and by using the clothes
and sensors that the desired characters
wear, it will record their movements in the
form of animation.
Threats of artificial intelligence
Creative originality:
One of the reasons that artificial intelligence and
the destruction of art are closely related is that
there are questions about the authenticity of the
creative process of art created by artificial
intelligence. Artificial intelligence can replicate
artistic styles with astonishing accuracy, devoid of
unique human experiences, emotions, and
perspectives, forming an original work of art. This
reduces human creativity.
The future of artificial intelligence in
animation
By integrating artificial intelligence into animation,
artists have access to powerful tools that are able to
quickly process images and frames and capture
subtle differences. These include realistic facial
expressions, natural body movement, and even
virtual environment physics. Artificial intelligence-
based animation ushered in a new era of creativity
and innovation in the industry.
Artificial intelligence gives artists the freedom to move to the next stage of
development faster.
Creating any kind of design using AI is by no means flawless, but it is a
smart, fast and cost-effective alternative to producing thousands of
prototypes.

So, for the most part, animators don't have to worry about AI advancements.
Whether we are talking about product design, game development, or
animated cartoons, artificial intelligence and the tools that support it are not
a threat to animators' jobs. (at least until today)

Animators must learn to work with artificial intelligence and use its
technology to improve work performance, give themselves more
opportunities for creative work, and sharpen their skills to prepare for future
innovations.

Finally, animators will have more control over their creations and the
Benefits and Advantages: As technology evolves and
advances with new techniques, programs and software,
artists now have the opportunity to create art using
computers through algorithms known as artificial
intelligence animation. It has become an invaluable tool for
animators and has given new dimensions to animation by
introducing innovative and creative ways to produce art.
Artificial intelligence has breathed new life into animation
by bringing a greater level of realism to characters, lip
syncing and backgrounds. Additionally, the use of artificial
intelligence saves animators time and allows them to focus
on more imaginative work and new concepts. With more
businesses focusing on producing compelling creative
content, the future for animators is brighter than ever.
Advantages and limitations of artificial intelligence in
animation:

Using artificial intelligence in animation has both

advantages and disadvantages, especially from a
creative perspective. On the one hand, artificial
intelligence can increase the accuracy and efficiency of
the final product by automating many creative tasks
and reducing the possibility of human error. In
addition, AI can speed up the animation process, saving
valuable time and reducing costs. On the other hand, AI
animation tools can be expensive, may not always be
perfect, and can limit the animator's control over the
final product.
