An input device is any hardware device that sends data to a
computer, allowing you to interact with and control it.

computer.

devices
A pointing device, or sometimes
called a pointing tool, is
a hardware input device that
allows the user to move the
mouse cursor in a computer
program or GUI operating
system.
e.g:
• Based on rolling ball
• Based on touching a surface

An input device that uses laser
to induce data into the device
e.g:
• Scanner
• Barcode reader

A device that uses audio or video
to induce data into the device.
e.g:
Microphone
