PARTIAL INCLUSION

• Pupils with special needs learn together with


normal pupils in selected academic subjects and
co-curricular activities based on their abilities
FULL INCLUSION

• Pupils with special needs spend the whole time


with normal pupils (mainstream)
• Pupils with special needs learn all academic
subjects based on the national curriculum or
adapted curriculum
SELECTION CRITERIA OF
STUDENTS FOR INCLUSIVE
EDUCATION
• Passing assessment using instruments set by MOE
• Age of pupils with special needs is the same as
normal pupils in the same cohort or a year older.
PLACEMENT OF STUDENTS FOR
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
• The number of pupils in a mainstream classroom which
caters to pupils with special needs undergoing Inclusive
Education Programme should not exceed 35.
• Not more than 5 pupils with special needs in each class.
• Pupils with special needs are placed in classes suitable
to their abilities.
PLACEMENT OF STUDENTS FOR
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
• The classrooms are preferably on the ground floor
as there might be pupils who need to use
wheelchairs.
• Parents of pupils with special needs need to give
written consent.
