WHAT IS AN INDEPENDENCE DAY ?

A country's Independence Day is the day on which


its people celebrate their independence from
another country that ruled them in the past.
WHEN AND HOW LEBANON GET HIS
INDEPENDENCE?
• Lebanon was under French mandate.
• The 22th of November 1943,in the midst of the World War,
the representatives of General de Gaulle's Free France
conceded independence to Lebanon. In memory of this
day, November 22 is a national holiday in Lebanon.

• It celebrates Lebanese identity and calls for the defense of the
homeland.

The red stripes symbolise the blood verset for the independence.The white stripe
represents the purity and the snow of the Lebanese mountains.The cedar is a
national symbol of Lebanon, and it represents the peace and the eternity.
